About the Job
- The Speech Language Pathologist - SLP, will be teaching students coping strategies and providing treatment to eliminate or minimize specific communication disorders.
- Evaluating and assessing communication delays with appropriate testing materials to arrive at a clear diagnosis in specific areas such as oral communication, which includes auditory perception, speech, and expressive language; and total communication which includes alternative modes and written communication.
- Planning schedules to meet DISS/L students weekly.
- Writing monthly and annual student progress reports.
- Consulting with classroom teachers and support staff to coordinate classroom lessons and target specific social language development in cooperative group skills, self-concept, and daily living skills.
- Working onsite during regular school operational hours.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Master's degree or higher in speech pathology or related field.
- Active MA state SLP - Speech Language Pathologist License.
- Strong oral and written communication.
- Highly skilled in working with students with diverse needs.
