Objectives of this Role:
- Maryland Office Security point of contact for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and supervision of operations for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF).
- Ensures accreditation documentation is available for SCIFs and maintains Intrusion Detection Systems.
- Ensures SCI is properly accounted for, controlled, transmitted, transported, packaged, and safeguarded.
- Ensures SCI is destroyed by authorized means and in accordance with applicable government directives.
- Ensures SCI is disseminated only to persons authorized access.
- Serves as the official channel for certifying, receiving/sending SCI visitor clearances and accesses.
- Coordinates all facility maintenance projects and performs escort duties for both cleared and uncleared visitors.
- Investigates security infractions, makes recommendations and prepares required reports.
- Respond to and work with government security officers/inspectors during inquiries and/or inspections involving classified matters and secure facility requirements.
- Conduct inventories and investigates any shortfalls involving classified material.
- Create and update classified inventory database.
- Complete additional work assignments/tasks as assigned by the Division Security Manager and/or Department Director.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Open/close or coordinate the open/close of all secure facilities & security containers on a daily basis.
- Ensure the End-of-Day (EOD) checks occur for all secure facilities, rooms and security containers.
- Conduct monthly HVAC, ventilation, and inspection port security checks for all secure facilities and rooms.
- Conduct yearly (in some cases semi-annual) above ceiling penetration checks for all secure facilities and rooms.
- Conduct monthly fire extinguisher checks for all secure facilities and rooms, and any other routine safety and security checks.
- Support and lead any on site security Audits, to include updating and maintaining documentation.
- Conduct monthly random personnel security inspections for all facilities and rooms.
- Support facility needs as required both from a security and maintenance stand point.
- Working directly with building and security vendors.
- Support customer meetings being hosted at the facility, as needed.
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Criminology, Criminal Justice or directly related degree field with related experience. 10 years of professional level related work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- 5 years: Working in and around classified materials and/or secure facilities.
- Experience in Security, Law Enforcement, Military Special Security Officer.
- Experience as a Facility Security Officer or alternate Facility Security Officer.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
