Overview:The Safety and Infection Prevention Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of safety and infection prevention within our dental service organization. Working closely with the Compliance & Ethics Department, this individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing safety and infection control initiatives to safeguard our patients and team members. The Specialist will work diligently to maintain compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices, promoting a culture of safety and infection prevention throughout the organization.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular reviews of infection control policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure alignment with Centers for Disease Control, Federal, and state requirements.
Develop and execute proactive education and training programs to enhance infection control processes across supported dental offices.
Collaborate with the Safety and Infection Prevention Senior Manager in providing guidance and oversight to regional back-office trainers, ensuring consistent compliance with infection prevention protocols.
Ensure that safety and infection control goals are in line with the organization's mission, values, and strategic plan.
Interact with regional teams to proactively identify and address infection control issues, emphasizing cost-conscious solutions.
Prepare compliance reports and analyze statistical data as needed to track infection control performance.
Conduct annual infection control and back office compliance assessments, creating and managing annual work plans for continuous improvement.
Elevate the organization's reputation as an industry leader in infection control processes.
Oversee compliance with facility reviews, risk management modules, and safety meetings.
Coordinate National B-Risk 400 IC workshops following approved guidelines from the PDS Learning and Training Department.
Conduct regional facility reviews annually to ensure strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations.
Establish and maintain standardized compliance products and processes for the setup of new DeNovo offices and specialty office launches.
Qualifications
Typically requires a BA/BS from an accredited college in a related field of study
5 years of Lead Dental experience
Preferred
DIPC (Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control) certification.
OSAP-Dale Foundation Infection Prevention Control Certificate.
Regional Back Office Trainer/Manager experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to influence and delegate tasks while providing coaching and guidance.
Proficiency in identifying performance and knowledge gaps and effectively training and coaching others.
Strong presentation skills for communicating protocols, processes, and QRGs to various audiences.
Detail-oriented, organized, process-focused, and proactive with a customer service orientation.
Effective management of daily departmental operations and goal-setting for the short to medium term (1-3 years).
Independent judgment to make timely and accurate decisions based on available information.
Effective multitasking in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment without compromising work quality.
Prioritization of tasks and projects with limited direction, while contributing to the success of the assigned region(s) and corporation, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory bodies.

Salary Information:$79,584.00-$133,895.00 / Annually
