Carvana is seeking a detail-oriented, adaptable, and proactive individual to join our Internal Communications team as a Specialist, Internal Communication and Connection. This is a high-visibility role where you will play a key part in driving engagement, fostering connections, and supporting the flow of critical internal communications across the company. As a member of our small, hardworking, and scrappy team, you'll wear many hats, working alongside the Associate Director, Internal Communication and Connection to manage internal content, support employee engagement initiatives, and help bring our company culture to life.
The ideal candidate is organized, deadline-driven, and has strong writing skills. A passion for building connections within the company is essential. Content creation experience, or the willingness to learn, is a big plus. SPECIFICALLY, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Event Support: Provide logistical and operational support for company events and recognition ceremonies, including coordinating travel, catering, and ensuring all event details are executed seamlessly.
- Internal Content Management: Regularly update and maintain the content on our 'Intranet' and various digital tools, keeping it fresh, engaging, and relevant for all team members.
- Newsletter Creation: Collaborate with the team to produce our company newsletter, sourcing and creating content that speaks to the diverse needs of our employees.
- Internal Social Engagement: Manage and curate content for our internal social feed, to foster a strong sense of community and engagement across teams.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to understand their needs and ensure the success of internal communication initiatives and events.
THE QUALIFYING CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Proven ability to plan and execute corporate events and meetings.
- Excellent writing, editing, and organizational skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise messages for a variety of internal audiences.
- Comfort working in a high-visibility role where you will interact with senior leadership and need to perform well under pressure.
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is always willing to pitch in wherever needed.
- Strong focus on the little things—whether it's event logistics, communication materials, or keeping track of multiple moving parts.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously while maintaining high standards of execution.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when necessary for event setups or other logistics.
Additional Details:
- This is a full-time, salaried position based in Tempe, AZ.
- Flexibility to work outside of standard office hours will be required, as events and initiatives may take place during evenings or weekends.
