The Specialist Immigration role involves a comprehensive understanding of internal procedural requirements for various visa petitions and applications alongside extensive client interaction to address legal inquiries. This role is integral to our enterprise-wide operations, serving both current employees of the company and prospective candidates.

The ideal candidate will posses a Bachelor's Degree, along with 3+ years of legal experience, preferably in Immigration Law.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand internal procedural and processing requirements for various types of non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications.
- Extensive client contact by phone and e-mail regarding the details of cases and providing responses to complex legal questions.
- Prepare visa cases from beginning to end, including determining required documentation and working with the client to identify, obtain, and revise documents.
- Understand the permanent residency process, including the PERM Labor Certification recruitment process, and prevailing wage submission process.
- Coordinate the recruitment and resume screening process as required by PERM Labor Certification (Green Card).
- Provide high level administrative support: metrics, correspondence, and file creation and maintenance.
- Perform internal research to assist attorney in responding to client questions.
- May lead trainings on immigration processes and provide guidance.
- Support/Develop appropriate processes and procedures for prompt and accurate processing and monitoring of immigration/visa applications.
- Ensure compliance with all aspects of Visa process and other federal laws.
- Liaison between internal departments and external legal counsel.
- Manage the monitoring for expiring work authorizations, process visa extensions in a timely fashion.
- Interact with foreign nationals on a regular basis and coordinate with external law firm to answer questions and resolve issues.
- Utilize a strong working knowledge of internal immigration policies and procedures to recommend the appropriate immigration strategy.
- Review immigration invoices. Escalate discrepancies as needed.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years experience in the legal profession (preferably in Immigration Law).
- General knowledge of HR policies and processes, specifically with experience around recruitment activities for green card purposes.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office Excel, Word, and Outlook and/or similar google suite products.
- Experience with data management.
- 3 years minimum experience in the legal profession, preferably in Immigration Law (paralegal).
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to draft and compose various legal documents, correspondence, and briefs accurately and effectively.
- Exemplary customer service skills.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.
