If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and want to play a pivotal role in evolving an industry, then apply today to Go Places with USS PRIMARY PURPOSE The Billing & Collections Specialist is responsible for the billing & collections process and overall cash management of an assigned book of business. This position is responsible for handling all internal and external correspondence related to their assigned accounts while ensuring excellent customer service. Essential Functions + Responsible for billing, collection, and management of the assigned portfolio + Audit invoices, validate pricing, services, accurate taxes, ancillary charges, and overall accuracy of invoices + Upload invoices into a 3rd party portal and track invoices until paid + Create consolidated spreadsheet billing per the customers' requirements + Provide reconciliation of customer accounts and resolve outstanding balance issues. Identify and submit credit memos + Establish relationships with customers to encourage ability to invoice and faster pay + Communicate and follow up effectively with the sales department regarding customer accounts on a timely basis + Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to ensure timely billing and collections + Work with other departments to correct errors and update orders + Partner with third party collection agency when necessary + Partner with the legal team on accounts where the customer filed for bankruptcy + Suggest account adjustments, small balance write-offs, and escalate uncollected balances for write offs SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION Min/Preferred Education Level Description Minimum 2 Year/ Associate Degree Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience EXPERIENCE Minimum Years of Experience Maximum Years of Experience Comments 4 Accounts Receivable and collections required. Customer service and account management preferred ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES + Strong Customer Service Skills + Understanding of cash application and account reconciliation reporting + Salesforce and Netsuite experience preferred + Ability to successfully collaborate with other departments + Strong Multi-Tasking and Time Management Skills + Strong Decision Making and Problem Solving + Demonstrated experience with common applications (Microsoft Office) with intermediate Microsoft Excel knowledge + Well organized & able to work under timelines & constraints + Strong written & verbal (customer service) communication skills; analytical, process oriented, and ability to focus on details for long periods of time Physical Requirements PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Demand Frequency Sit while answering phones or reply to emails Constant Use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects tools or controls Frequent Repeat the same movements when entering data Frequent See details of objects that are less than a few feet away Constant Speak clearly so listeners can understand Frequent Understand the speech of another person Frequent Focus on one source of sound and ignore others Frequent Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them Frequent See differences between colors, shades and brightness Frequent Benefits Summary All full-time employees working an average of 30 hours or more per week are eligible for the below benefits.
