The Stanford Center on Early Childhood , an initiative of the Stanford Accelerator for Learning , seeks a full time Special Projects Manager to join our team. The Special Projects Manager will work under the supervision of the Director of the RAPID Survey (RAPID) to organize, implement, and oversee projects and activities that support RAPID and its stakeholders and that advance the program. The Special Projects Manager will participate in the prioritization of these projects and activities, and will lead the development and implementation of project plans. Note: This position is a 1-year fixed term appointment that may be renewed based on performance and funding. This position is eligible for a hybrid work agreement. Limited travel may be required for convenings and events. Housed at Stanford Graduate School of Education , the Stanford Accelerator for Learning (SAL) is a research hub that connects experts from the sciences, medicine, engineering, law, and humanities to expedite learning solutions for all learners. The first university-wide initiative to connect Stanford scholars across disciplines with external partners in the field, SAL bridges research, innovation, practice, and policy to achieve true system change. SAL is currently focused on six areas of research that show high need and high promise for transformational change. These areas include digital learning, early childhood education, learning differences, equity in learning, policy and systems change, and adult and workforce learning. The Stanford Center on Early Childhood (SCEC) is an initiative of the Stanford Accelerator for Learning. The SCEC leverages the current moment of revolutionary science and fosters deep omnidirectional collaboration across sectors, seeking to change the way that research in early childhood is conducted, communicated, and utilized, with the overarching goal that each and every child thrives from the start.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Special Projects Manager will work under the supervision of the Director of the RAPID Survey to develop, design, and implement projects and new activities that support operations, advance partnerships, and expand RAPID’s capacity to provide timely, actionable, relevant data and caregiver voices to those who can use it. RAPID is a program of two national surveys of households with children under age 6 and the child care workforce. Led by Philip Fisher, Stanford Center on Early Childhood Director, RAPID administers monthly surveys on a rapid-cycle schedule, and has collected data from more than 20,000 households and 7,000 child care providers in all 50 states. The survey and data are used to inform policy, advocacy, academic, and practitioner audiences on the experiences, challenges, and strengths of caregivers of young children and providers beyond those immediately related to the pandemic, to support data-driven policies and programs that equitably and effectively serve families, providers and young children. RAPID also applies its rapid-cycle survey development, data collection, and data dissemination processes in partnership with communities across the US, to support local decision makers with timely parent data and voices. RAPID’s partners represent neighborhoods, cities, counties, and states.
The Special Projects Manager will use their outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with key team members on RAPID and at the SCEC to gather and share information, develop relationships with collaborators and stakeholders, and design and execute project plans that rely on and/or impact team members’ work. The Special Projects Manager will use their experience working with organizational leaders to oversee projects and activities that include engagement with senior advisors, faculty, consultants, and early childhood leaders and experts outside of the SCEC.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in research methodology, early childhood development, and community-based research, as well as organizational and project management skills, experience working in community contexts and the ability to establish authentic and collaborative engagement with community based organizations and early childhood professionals. The successful candidate will bring their lived experience to this role.

Your primary responsibilities will include:
+ Develop and manage research programs by conducting program activities, including outreach to varied stakeholders within the program, assigning resources and making program improvement recommendations that impact policies and programs.
+ Identify, recommend and implement opportunities for new program development.
+ Source, collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.
+ Assist in the administration of programs. Make recommendations for preliminary overview and changes.
+ Write and/or edit complex content for program activities.
+ Contribute to and inform on strategic program/entity planning and related funding and financial sustainability.
+ May advise students and/or coach/mentor clients.
+ Develop or contribute to outreach strategy related to program communications, development, partnerships, and fundraising/funding.
+ Coach and mentor program staff
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs. For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

+ Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.

The expected pay range for this position i s $111,866 to $130,000 per annum depending on region.
