Job Summary:
The Flora-Bama Lounge is looking for a successful and enthusiastic team member to drive new business to Flora-Bama and produce events from conception through to completion, while ensuring these groups have the best experience possible. Working in collaboration with the Flora-Bama management team, this exceptional individual will provide leadership in planning, coordination and execution of all these events held at the Flora-Bama and its properties to include the Flora-Bama Yacht Club, Flora-Bama Ole River Grill, Flora-Bama Liquor Store and Flora-Bama Marina. This person will be responsible for meeting with clients to book charity events, fundraisers, corporate or group parties, weddings, seasonal parties, small sporting events, etc. This person must possess outstanding customer service skills, be extremely organized and detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, display a positive attitude, and MUST have a flexible schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
● Plan and execute all of your events of the Flora-Bama properties
● Bring new business to Flora-Bama through these
events/parties/weddings/fundraisers etc…
● Re-Cap all events that you plan and execute
● Producing a comprehensive plan for delegation of duties to staff members for
events
● Working with General Manager, Marketing Director, Special Event Manager,
Assistant General Managers, Owners and Managers on Duty to have adequate
staff for each event
● Maintain event budgets and all P&L’s related to event
● Approve invoices related to your events, track payments and ticket sales
● Procure any required event permits, licenses, liability waivers and on-site medical
services
● Keep a folder of each event for each year as it passes in an organized manner to
make sure each event has a trail throughout the planning process and follow up
with clients for re-booking
● Be present for all of your events
● Support the overall marketing team for all major events
● Be a member in the community on behalf of Flora-Bama at local area chambers
and other relevant groups
● Build strong relationships with local groups, condo associations, convention
centers, hotels, and restaurant managers/staff
● Manage incoming donation/sponsorship requests
● Strong food and beverage background with catering experience preferred
● Strong attention to detail
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, work under tight deadlines
and pressure
● Top notch interpersonal and communication skills
● Proficient negotiating skills
● Highly self-motivated and eager to learn. A self-starter with lots of internal
initiative.
● Flexibility in high stress situations
● Computer proficiency
● MUST be willing to nights, weekends and holidays
● Must possess a STRONG work ethic and be an enthusiastic team player
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
● College degree
● 2 years experience in event planning and coordination
● 2 years experience with food and beverage
● Proficient in Excel, Word, and Google Suites
● Proficient in design platforms such as Adobe and Canva
Starting Salary: $45,000
