Special Education Teacher - Remote (Oregon)
You will play a crucial role in managing instructional programs for students with special needs. Utilizing various communication tools and technology, you will provide virtual teaching and support to ensure the success of each student's educational journey. Collaborating closely with learning coaches, students, and other professionals, you will contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans. Your dedication will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while fostering a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage and provide instructional guidance for a caseload of students with special needs.
Develop, write, and implement IEPs and 504 plans.
Evaluate assessments, conduct parent conferences, and maintain regular communication with parents/learning coaches.
Collaborate with teachers and professionals to deliver specially designed instruction and support.
Conduct virtual IEP meetings and participate in the school's Student Support Team.
Assist in organizing and implementing paperwork and procedures for the IEP process.
Coordinate with service providers and maintain accurate data in the school's systems.
Administer state testing and provide necessary adaptations based on IEP requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Degree in Special Education or related field.
Valid Special Education credential in Oregon.
Experience with Special Education policy (IDEA) and/or administration.
Proficiency in technology, including Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Highly organized, punctual, and customer-focused.
Flexible and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
Team player with a willingness to travel occasionally for events.
