Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
- Utilize various teaching methods, including Montessori techniques, to engage students in learning.
- Conduct assessments and standardized testing to evaluate student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to ensure a cohesive approach to each student's education.
- Employ behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and address any challenges that arise in the classroom.
- Create lesson plans that incorporate subjects such as math while addressing the specific learning goals of students with disabilities.
- Provide support in areas of childhood development and early childhood education, ensuring all students have access to appropriate resources.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding educational outcomes.
Experience
- A degree in Special Education or a related field is required.
- Experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation is essential.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and childhood development principles is highly valued.
- Previous experience in early childhood education or special education settings will be considered an asset.
- IL licensure or the ability to obtain.
