Special Education Teacher
We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our team of top educators. Special Education Teacher candidates should be interested in working with neurodiverse students to create individualized educational instruction.
Our Special Education Teacher focus on the following:
Individualized classroom instruction and instructional coaching.
Support students in meeting Ilinois State Learning Standards.
Collaborate with therapy team, caregivers and professionals to maximize learning.
Special Education Teacher education requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree in Education preferred
Learning Behavior Specialist 1 endorsement (LBS1) required
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) preferred
Experience working with neurodiverse students.

Merlin Day Academy is a private, therapeutic day school that provides students with autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and other neuro-diverse learning needs ages 6 to 12 an intensive, individualized educational environment that cultivates relationship-based, family-centered care to strengthen educational and functional skills for students to become active, successful participants in their community. Our collaborative team of therapists and educators provide special education, social work, occupational therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), developmental therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, language therapy, nutrition, and feeding therapy services.
