About the Job
We are currently offering highly competitive salaries for experienced General Studies Special Education Teacher with Master's degrees at our Brooklyn school. We are looking for candidates who are ready to start immediately and who are looking for positions during the 2023-24 school year. The General Studies Specialist will provide push-in and/or pull-out support in reading, decoding, and/or reading comprehension/writing to small groups of up to 6 students in grades 1-5.
Responsibilities:
Provide support in reading decoding and reading comprehension.
Collaborate closely with classroom teachers.
Communicate regularly with parents on student progress.
Conduct reading decoding and comprehension assessments

Qualifications:
Master’s Degree or NY Certification in Special Education or Reading.
Training and experience using Wilson Reading System programs (E.g. Wilson, Fundations), Orton Gillingham or PAF methodologies preferred.
Experience working with special education students in small groups on reading decoding and comprehension.
Experiences modifying curriculum and scaffolding instruction for struggling learners
