About the Role
We seek a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Special Education Teacher (LBS1) to join a dynamic team in Bolingbrook, IL. This position focuses on supporting students in a Multi-Needs Classroom, addressing the unique academic, behavioral, and social needs of students with severe-to-profound learning challenges. The ideal candidate will bring expertise, creativity, and a collaborative mindset to enhance student outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to students with intellectual disabilities, multiple disabilities, developmental delays, or traumatic brain injuries.
• Create a structured and inclusive classroom environment that fosters engagement, growth, and positive behavior.
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support holistic development.
• Utilize evidence-based strategies, adaptive materials, and assistive technologies to meet students' diverse needs.
• Monitor and document student progress, making data-driven adjustments to instructional strategies.
• Provide direct instruction in academic, social, and life skills aligned with student goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an LBS1 Endorsement.
• Experience working with students with severe-to-profound academic challenges is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and compliance.
• Proficient in using adaptive strategies and technologies to support learning.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues.
• Passion for fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
