Basic Eligibility For A Position With The NRO

Where You Will Work
The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is an independent office that is headed by a Senate confirmed, Presidentially appointed IG, and reports directly to the Director, National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). The OIG safeguards public trust by promoting integrity, accountability, and sound management practices through objective and independent oversight of NRO programs and activities and keeps the Director, NRO fully informed of vulnerabilities in the organization, while also reporting to Congress, as appropriate.
The National Reconnaissance Office, Office of Inspector General is in search of a highly skilled, extremely polished officer. The OIG is looking for a highly motivated individual to assist in supporting the OIG Front Office. This is a high visibility position that requires the ability to proactively work independently and as a team member. The position requires a degree of autonomy and latitude in planning, organizing, and decision making to support the workload of the office, the Principal Support Officer, and the Chief of Staff. This position must effectively communicate across all levels of management.
The position is part of a three-person administrative support team. Expectations of the position include managing competing priorities and meeting the general administrative needs of the OIG, while supporting the OIG Senior Staff members through guidance from the Principal Support Officer and the Chief of Staff. This position aligns to the Management Services Division, which performs all support activities and functions in the OIG. The position reports to the Principal Support Officer and the Chief of Staff.

What You Will Be Doing
- The selected individual will be responsible for a number of initiatives for the OIG in conjunction with the daily administrative duties. The incumbent will serve as the back-up to the Principal Support Officer, as necessary. In addition, ongoing activities for the incumbent will include, but are not limited to: managing calendars, executing Government Purchase Card purchases and monthly accounting, supporting to the OIG’s Records Management Program, assisting with Common Access Card processing, processing passports, and creating and updating standard operating procedures.
- The incumbent of this position will also assist with preparations of corporate type events such as off-sites, All Hands, and other meetings. The incumbent will serve as a back-up when necessary to the Executive Administrator position within the Investigations Division. Additional duties may include becoming familiar with the OIG Investigative process in order to assist with administrative activities.

- Government Purchase Card familiarity or willingness to learn
- Previous facilities and logistics experience
- Previous experience with arranging travel
- Previous knowledge on protocol precedence, organization rules, regulations and policies
- Understanding of NRO business practices, business tools, and corporate decision-making processes
Other Information
- Overtime Statement: MAY be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Travel Statement: MAY be required to travel in military or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
- Financial Disclosure: MAY be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.

Salary
2024 salary range for the Washington, DC area:
GG-12: $99,200 – $128,956.
GG-13: $117,962 – $153,354.
**This position is a full performance level DCIPS position. The NRO is accepting applications from U.S. Citizens and current federal government employees for this position. To qualify for the position,federal government employees MUST currently be at the GG – 12/13 grade level and may ONLY apply for a lateral reassignment at their current grade level and step. Hiring Incentives
The NRO may offer hiring incentives and other entitlements at management’s discretion.
Trial Period
All new DCIPS employees will be required to serve a 2-year trial period.
