JOB SUMMARY
***This Space Management Specialist will focus on Center Store (Grocery, Frozen, HBW and GM)***
The Space Management Specialist creates and updates product schematics for AFS Retailers, optimizing sales and profitability through analysis of market POS data and distribution history. Schematics are tailored for different retailer sizes based on consumer demographics, market trends, and category reviews.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and update accurate schematics for General Merchandise, Health & Beauty, Dry Grocery, and Frozen categories, ensuring correct product information (UPC, AFS ID, size, cost, etc.).
- Collaborate with Category Managers to align product mixes with retailer demographics and store sizes.
- Manage the regular updating of schematics due to product discontinuations and new item introductions.
- Analyze POS and warehouse data to evaluate schematic performance by space, sales, profit, and movement.
- Perform schematic comparisons when developing new sets.
- Provide schematic performance data to Category Managers for category analysis.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's in Business Management preferred, or equivalent experience. High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in retail management, with a focus on merchandising.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of retail categories (GM, HBC, Dry Grocery, Frozen), consumer research, and Space Management Software.
- Technical: Proficiency in Windows, Word, Excel, and Space Management software.
- Attributes: Detail-oriented, able to make independent decisions, manage deadlines, and build effective relationships with Category Managers, retailers, and vendors.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
