GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Girls’ School (WGS) is a therapeutic and educational facility for the treatment of court-ordered delinquent girls ages 12-21 years. The mission of the Wyoming Girls School is to provide therapeutic and educational services for the development and treatment of girls in a safe, nurturing and trauma-responsive community. This position, during active programming hours (12:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.), will provide supervision, safety, security, advice, counsel, correction, teaching, direction, and coordination of all services required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.
- As a member of the residents' dorm team, communicate, document, and assess the changing individual needs of each resident, including families and the public.
- Within the scope of facility policy, facility structure, and position duties, this position has the authority to make decisions regarding general program/activity adjustments and changes to resident program status.
- Provide advice, teaching, and direction to residents assigned to the dorm.
- Assess behavior and recommend interventions to the counseling and senior staff.
- Determine and assess youth progress within the program and documents using incident reports.
- Coordinate, supervise, and motivate students during general daily activities and ensure youth participate and meet the requirements of all program components they are responsible for completing.
- Manage and supervise residents' general daily activities.
- Participate in youth accountability and disciplinary processes.
- Manage crisis situations in compliance with current certification in the crisis management system and the policies, and promptly respond to all emergency or crisis situations as needed.
- Safely and securely transport residents on/off-campus for activities and work projects.
- Explain agency rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to new residents during intake to the dormitory.
- Support the educational department in assuring students have an opportunity to complete assignments.
- Support and ensure residents are receiving access to services that benefit their emotional stability and development.
- Assist residents with medications.
- Provide leadership to a unit through disciplinary actions, setting standards and guidelines, and ensuring academic support is provided, and all medical issues are attended to.
