About the Job
Join a large regional bulk chemical trader/broker/distribution organization in a strategic sales position in the Southern Louisiana area. This is a home-office position and would be best located somewhere in the Baton Rouge/Lafayette/New Orleans area. The position will be focused on selling bulk (truckloads, tank wagons, railcars) commodity chemicals to large industrial manufacturing and oil & gas accounts in Southern Louisiana. Overnight travel is expected to be about 10%. This is an excellent income and career growth opportunity. |
Responsibilities: Call on large industrial manufacturing and oil & gas accounts throughout the Southern Louisiana Region. Sell bulk volumes of commodity chemicals (Solvents, Alcohols, Glycols, Acids, etc.). Manage all existing business and grow the territory through new account development, and new business development at existing accounts. Develop long-term customer relationships. Develop the sales strategies by account and execute the plans. Communicate effectively across all functions within the organization. Travel overnight as needed. |
Requirements: 5+ years of chemical sales experience. Experience in chemical distribution and knowledge of the industrial and oil & gas markets in Southern Louisiana is a plus. A highly organized, self-motivated “hunter”, capable of growing the overall business and market share. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but not required. |

Compensation: Base salary range of $125,000 - $150,000 plus bonus and commissions in the $25,000 - $50,000 range on average. As business grows, so will the commissions – there is no cap. Car allowance. Excellent company benefits. |
