South Production Supervisor - Weld and Bending - Center Mfg

About the Job
Our growing company is seeking to hire a Production Supervisor for our Welding and Small Diameter Tube departments. This role will support 2 leads and have a majority of our south plant under their scope. We are looking for someone to stay focused on these areas to drive process improvements, understand customer requirements and demands to support CSRs, and determining root cause on quality, safety, and other issues that arise. They will coordinate with our North Plant Supervisor to ensure we are meeting deadlines and utilizing staff appropriately.
This is a salaried role - pay is based on the experience with manufacturing and job shop.
Schedule: 4 - 10s! 1st shift 6:00am-4:30pm as a supervisor will need to ensure staff are ready for their shifts and the oncoming 2nd shift supervisor understands priorities.
Your weekends are yours! Flexible schedule within a Monday - Thursday (overtime on Fridays based on customer demand - supervisors will assist the Plant Manager to determine if OT is needed)
Coordinates the effective use of equipment, facilities, team members, and skill setsin order tomeet all safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
- Schedules all direct labor personnel on daily work activitiesensuringoptimalutilizationof skills and man hours to meettimelyproduction and quality standards.
- Trains employees and completes training records.
- Ensures employees arecomplying withmanufacturing process documentation.
- Maintains schedule adherence and works with management on proper staffing levels to meet schedules.
- Leads high-performingteam: interviewing, hiring, training, directing work, appraising performance,rewardingand disciplining employees, addressingcomplaintsand resolving problems.
- Maintains proper quality standards on all products being produced on shift.
- Distributes supplies, takes inventory, and initiates reorder as needed.
- Advisesoperations management of process improvement ideas, production issues, maintenance items, safety matters, and other information.
- Follows acceptable employee relation practices and company policies.
- Ensures employeesmaintainand practice proper safety requirements including good housekeepingand wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- All other duties assigned.

What Does It Take to Be a Fit for This Role?
Ideally, we are looking for candidates who have a minimum of an associate degree in a related field and 5 - 7 years of supervisory background in a contract manufacturing environment. Experience with metal fabrication, welding, assembly, along with experience with quality improvement tools(Lean Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) is also required. It would be great if you had professional certifications (CWI) Since you will be leading people in this role, you will need to be a great leader with solid communication, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to develop and motivate a team.
