Job Description: As our Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Executive Chef and culinary team to uphold the high standards of our restaurant. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine in daily kitchen operations, including preparation and plating of dishes.
- Lead an assigned station to ensure that all line cooks are preparing and plating the dishes properly
- Work in conjunction with the Chef de Cuisine and porter team to ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained in accordance with building standards and basic service standards
- Preparing meals and food to meet the specifications and expectations in a timely manner
- Supervising and training kitchen staff to ensure consistency and excellence in food preparation and presentation.
- Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef to develop and refine menu items.
- Monitor inventory and assist in the ordering of supplies as needed.
- Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Demonstrating culinary expertise and a passion for excellence in every aspect of your work.
Requirements: To be considered for the Sous Chef position, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in an upscale, fine dining establishment, Michelin experience a plus.
- 2-3 years experience
- Culinary degree or relevant culinary certifications.
- Strong knowledge of French and Provençal cuisine, cooking techniques, and food pairings.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate the kitchen team.
- A keen eye for detail, creativity, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dishes.
- Flexibility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including weekends and holidays.
