About the Job
Maggie's restaurant is located in Westminster, MD. We use fresh and local ingredients to create delicious and innovative dishes. We are currently seeking a full-time Sous Chef to join our team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee creative daily lunch and dinner specials with proper pricing to reflect correct food cost percent.
- Develop and maintain new products and plate presentations.
- Utilize all food ingredients in a manner to eliminate waste and leftovers.
- Ensure all established cooking procedures and recipes are adhered to.
- Maintain constant communication with cooks on par levels for all soups, sauces, stocks, and dressings.
- Complete proper requisitions daily and maintain proper flow of credits due to food costs.
- Maintain and enforce consistent sanitation procedures, including but not limited to; cleanliness and organization of all walk-ins, reach-ins, shelves, drawers, and freezers.
- Maintain and enforce proper rotation of food within all walk-ins, reach-ins, shelves, and freezers.
- Ensure a high level of quality food.
- Maintain constant control of food and labor costs.
- Train and supervise staff as required
- Attend all event meetings where menu planning needs to be discussed
- Interact effectively and cohesively with all departments.
- Follow the direction of the owner and management as requested.
- Report any problem equipment promptly.
- Available for a flexible schedule to cove call-in to work as required.
- Express ideas and convey information, effectively, and professionally.
