About the Job
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a high-volume, high-end restaurant. This hands-on position will involve working closely with the Head Chef in a beautiful setting to create exceptional dishes and maintain culinary standards in a fast-paced environment that requires a love for working with volume.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a Sous Chef in upscale dining establishments, possessing a strong grasp of culinary techniques, food safety regulations, and effective kitchen management. Leadership skills are crucial to guide and inspire kitchen staff to deliver consistent quality and service excellence during busy periods. Previous graduation from a culinary school or relevant certifications is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise food preparation to ensure quality and efficiency during peak service hours.
- Mentor and train kitchen team members, including line cooks and prep cooks.
- Manage inventory levels and procurement, ensuring timely ordering to support high-volume operations.
- Enforce strict adherence to food safety regulations and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
- Assist in scheduling, inventory, ordering and other administrative duties
