Position Overview:
As a Sous Chef at Prime & Pint, you will play a pivotal role in assisting the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations. You will be responsible for helping to develop and execute creative menus, maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation, and leading a team of culinary professionals to ensure seamless service.
Job duties
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create innovative and seasonally inspired menus that showcase the restaurant's culinary philosophy and vision.
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, to ensure consistency and excellence in every dish.
- Train, mentor, and motivate kitchen staff to uphold standards of culinary excellence, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs to maximize profitability while minimizing waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Assist with scheduling, staffing, and performance evaluations to optimize efficiency and productivity within the kitchen team.
- Act as a liaison between the kitchen and front-of-house staff to facilitate smooth communication and exceptional guest experiences.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Culinary degree or equivalent culinary training preferred.
- Proven expertise in a variety of cooking techniques, culinary styles, and cuisines.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to upholding industry standards.
