Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, and staff supervision.
- Oversee the preparation and execution of dishes to ensure consistency, quality, and timeliness.
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Maintain inventory and assist in ordering to ensure adequate supply levels while minimizing waste.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop and test new menu items that reflect seasonal and local ingredients.
- Monitor food costs and labor efficiency, contributing to financial goals and profitability.
- Act as a leader during service, ensuring smooth operations and resolving any issues promptly.
- Uphold kitchen organization and cleanliness, ensuring all equipment is properly maintained and functional.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role in a high-volume or upscale restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, seasonal ingredients, and food safety standards.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and develop kitchen staff.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity and passion for developing innovative and high-quality dishes.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
