Job Description:
We are a renowned farm-to-table fast-casual eatery, is looking for a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our Carlsbad location. As Sous Chef, you will play an integral role in upholding our commitment to using the freshest ingredients to create outstanding dishes for our valued guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing the day-to-day culinary operations of the restaurant.
Ensure consistent dish preparation and presentation by adhering to Urban Plates' quality standards.
Train and mentor kitchen staff, providing feedback and coaching as necessary.
Monitor food and labor costs, ensuring efficiency and budget adherence.
Collaborate in menu planning and development, taking into account seasonal ingredients and guest preferences.
Maintain kitchen sanitation, health, and safety standards, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Oversee inventory, order supplies, and develop relationships with suppliers to ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients.
Act as a leader in the kitchen, fostering a team-oriented and professional environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
Culinary degree or equivalent work experience.
Strong knowledge of food industry trends and best practices.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a diverse team.
Flexibility to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
