KOKOMO NYC is currently in search of a Sous Chef to join our expanding team in Brooklyn, NY 11249.

Overview:
The Sous Chef oversees food preparation and cooking in Kokomo’s kitchen.
Second in command, you’ll partner with the Executive chef to plan the menu, take stock of inventory, replenish supplies, and manage staff.
You should be knowledgeable of various cooking techniques, have acquired hands-on experience in the kitchen and have a passion for food.
What We Offer:
- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: From $1,200/- to $1,400/- per week; commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the kitchen staff members operate in a clean and safe environment
- Ensure the kitchen operations run smoothly, food tastes great and staff members follow sanitation rules.
- Preparing meals and food to meet the specifications of guests in a timely manner
- Ensuring kitchen staff adhere to set standards, procedures, department rues and sanitation requirements
- Using kitchen knives and equipment such as grills, ovens, steamers and warmers in food preparation
- Managing the kitchen inventory and ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality
- Ensuring proper food temperatures when cooking and proper storage afterward
- Keeping the workstation and kitchen equipment clean, organized and sanitized.
- Taking charge of the kitchen opening, closing and other side duties as directed by the Executive Chef.
Qualifications:
- Culinary experience: 3 years (Preferred)
- Cooking: 3 years (Preferred)
- Chefs: 3 years (Preferred)
- Must be able to communicate in English.
