Provides quality patient care when performingdiagnostic sonographic imagingand related proceduresto demonstrate anatomy for
interpretation and/or intervention.

Schedule: Variable Shift; PRN.

Essential Functions

•Works closely with Radiologistto perform diagnostic sonographic exams.
•Exercises professional judgment in performance of servicesand maintains a demeanor complimentary toquality care.
•Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patientconditionsand ensuring successful completion of procedures.
•Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable toeach modality.
•Adheres toOrlando Healthmission statements and commitment to excellence standards.
•Assesses the patient’s physical condition and age specific needs.
•Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
•Performs proper patient identification, acquirespatient’s clinical history andassures that the information is accurately
documented.
•Positionspatient,equipment,associateddevicesandmanipulatestechnicalfactorstoachievehighqualityimagesfor
interpretation.
•Assessesdiagnosticimages for technical quality, properannotation and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is
demonstrated.
•Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
•Administers medical aid as required for any emergency situation.
•Appliesappropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious
diseases.
•Assists in supervision of studentsonographers.
•UtilizesallCorporate Radiologycomputersystems, effectively and accurately.
•Ensures safety of all customers.
•Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state
and local standards.
•Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Education/Training
Associate’s degree in applied science and graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets American Registry of Diagnostic
Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines.

Licensure/Certification
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical
Sonographers (ARDMS).
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate.
• Maintains RDMS physics registry and three ARDMS registries.

Experience
Two(2) years of experience in sonography. Knowledge ofroutine ultrasound procedureswhichmay include invasive proceduressuch as biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast cyst aspiration, and breast localization, and knowledge of Doppler, 3D/4D, and pediatric sonography.
