Responsibilities:Position Summary:
This position is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures and/or NIV testing at a technical level not requiring constant supervision under the general direction of a radiologist and radiology administration. In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Catholic Healthcare West the Sonographer is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for performing diagnostic testing used in the assessment planning implementation and evaluation of care for patients.
Qualifications:REQUIRED:
- Must have completed a formal Sonography course or have completed four years of progressively responsible experience in an ultrasound department (such experience must have been within the last five years).
- Must have completed a formal Sonography course or have completed four years of progressively responsible experience in an ultrasound department (such experience must have been within the last five years).
- Completion of annual safety training.
- Completes and maintains required unit specific training.
- Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasonographers (RDMS) or RDCS or RVT in at least one field of specialization (i.e. Echocardiography/Doppler Abdominal or OB/Gyn) or eligibility for certification and must achieve certification within one year of eligibility.
- (CT ARDMS) Current Basic Life Support for healthcare providers required. (CT CPRBLS)
