Job Description:
As a Cardiovascular Sonographer at our healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in our diagnostic imaging team. You will be responsible for performing high-quality echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound examinations on patients to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. Your role will involve collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities:
Echo Tech/cardiac Sonographer
12 week assignment
40 hrs
8 hrs days, 7a-3:30p with an every other weekend/holiday requirement
Some on-call 2130-0600
BLS and RDMS or RCS certs required
RVT or RVS is a plus
TTE/TEE echocardiography experience preferred
Stress echocardiography experience preferred
The vascular/cardiac sonographer uses the modalities of ultrasound imaging to provide information pertaining to patient’s vascular anatomy, physiology and pathology. This position will be responsible for performing following procedures: ABIs, including segmental ABIs and exercise ABIs, Lower extremity arterial, Lower extremity venous, Upper extremity arterial, Upper extremity venous, Carotid, Abdominal aorta-complete, limited, and screenings. Equipment used includes Epiq Elite or Epiq CVx. Fuji Synapse CV is the reporting software and Epic Hyperspace HIS software.
Scrub color is charcoal grey and EMR is EPIC.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform echocardiograms, including 2D, M-mode, Doppler, and color flow studies, to evaluate cardiac function and structure.
- Conduct vascular ultrasound examinations, including carotid, arterial, and venous studies, to assess blood flow and detect abnormalities.
- Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and address their concerns and questions.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal image quality and patient safety.
- Analyze and interpret ultrasound images and data to provide accurate diagnostic information.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to discuss findings and assist in treatment planning.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including images and reports.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory standards.
- Stay updated on the latest developments and advancements in cardiovascular sonography.
- Participate in continuing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Proficient in performing echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound examinations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
