Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Sonar Payload Technician for the USV Operations & Maintenance, supporting the Navy Division.
Astrion develops, maintains, and operates cutting edge robotic ships and advanced payloads for the US Navy. This is a fast-paced project that is making a significant impact on the future of the Navy.
JOB DETAILS
LOCATION: San Diego, California
JOB STATUS: Full-Time
TRAVEL: Occasional local travel may be required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Six or more years operating and maintaining surface or submarine sonar systems.
- Two years supervision personnel in the operation and maintenance of payload systems
- Acoustic Intelligence (ACINT) analysis experience.
- Experience operating and maintaining towed sonar handling systems.
- Ability to train Active Duty Navy students on the use of experimental sonar equipment.
- Ability to embark on US Navy ships and civilian test support vessels.
- Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
- Experience developing and testing experimental systems at sea.
- Experience with Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (IUSS) operations and maintenance
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise Unmanned Systems Payload personnel
- Oversee the integration, operation, and maintenance of USV payload systems.
- Assist with the development of experimental towed sonar systems.
- Plan and execute at-sea testing of payload system.
- Operate and maintain towed sonar handling systems.
- Train Active Duty Navy personnel in an operational setting.
- Operate boats and support craft during test execution at sea.
SALARY RANGE: Estimated $85,000 + USD annually
