SolarWinds Administrator (On-site)
This is an on-site role in Reston, VA
Optomi, in partnership with one of our premier clients, is seeking a SolarWinds Administrator to join their IT operations team! This candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and optimal performance of the SolarWinds environment, creating and managing dashboards and reports, and continuously improving the overall utilization of SolarWinds monitoring tools.

Experience of the Right Candidate:
- 2-3 years of experience with the SolarWinds platform, including NCM, SAM, NPM, SCM, NTA, and SRM.
- Proven experience in creating and optimizing SolarWinds dashboards and reports tailored to specific business needs.
- Familiarity with Windows Server systems administration in both cloud and on-premises environments (Microsoft shop).
- Experience with Active Directory (AD), Exchange, and other application services such as IIS.
- Strong scripting skills to automate SolarWinds tasks (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
- SolarWinds Certified Professional certification is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities of the Right Candidate:
- Maintain SolarWinds platform health, ensuring nodes are up to date and monitoring configurations are optimized.
- Create and manage reports and dashboards for network devices, servers, and applications.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, identifying slow applications or issues using SolarWinds tools.
- Perform health assessments of the SolarWinds environment, recommending and implementing improvements.
- Ensure the platform is updated with the latest SolarWinds releases and patches.
- Support inventory management, including extracting serial numbers and managing node data.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate SolarWinds with other systems, such as deploying updates to network equipment.
- Document procedures and best practices for configurations, troubleshooting, and platform management.
- Provide on-call support and troubleshooting as needed, including after-hours support.
