Solar Project Engineer
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven solar project engineer to join our team. The solar project engineer will be responsible for working closely with engineers to oversee their plans sets and coordinate their work to ensure they stay on budget and within project timelines. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, how solar works, AutoCAD skills, excellent communications and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the development team to create site maps and line diagrams to explain to customers how solar pv systems work.
- Reach out to a multitude of engineering firms for quotes. Read and develop contracts with engineers and ensure they are meeting contract requirements
- Review project specifications ensuring that all products procured for the project meet spec.
- Create submittal packages that meet Plan and spec projects or for RFP's
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets with the engineering firms we contract to.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and progressing smoothly.
- Provide engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain Interconnection agreements and NSD requirements plans and specs to submit to Utilities.
- Maintain thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates.
- Monitor project costs, manage budgets, and report on financial status for engineering and interconnections.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Ensure all project activities meet or exceed industry standards, regulations, and company quality guidelines.
- Regularly update project managers on challenges, and changes in scope.
- Address technical issues and project challenges, providing solutions to keep the project on track.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in solar
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft office, with a strong understanding of engineering principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and think critically to solve complex problems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Compensation details: 50000-90000 Yearly Salary
