About the Job
Infintium Fuel Cell Systems, Inc. is developing next generation small and medium fuel cell systems in the upstate South Carolina area. We are currently looking for a Software Validation Engineer who will actively collaborate with other system/process owners during all project phases, including requirements gathering, design, and validation, to deliver robust application software that meets all defined objectives. As a broad systems expert, the best candidate for this position will be able to apply their sound fundamental understanding of embedded software, windows applications, and IOT systems in support of new-product and continuous-improvement projects. The Software Validation Engineer is also responsible for supporting product documentation that clearly communicates operational procedures, expected system outputs and troubleshooting/diagnostics methods.
As we are a fast-moving, small team, the candidate must be capable of setting and meeting goals reliably, with limited oversight. While the system hardware and software development environments are currently in place, the candidate will have the opportunity to guide future improvements in the system and ultimately has a significant influence on the company’s profitability.
The company’s facility is located in the Greer, SC area near the GSP airport.
This role at Infintium is expected to:
Embedded Software Validation
o Setup systems and documentation to support control software validation
o Execute and support test algorithms to ensure high quality software design
o Support product validation with respect to software functionality
· Windows Application Validation
o Assist developers in software design for testing
o Develop and execute test plans for multiple windows applications used to support field operations
o Help drive software direction and functionality to improve user experience
· IOT System Validation
o Develop and execute test plans for embedded IOT applications
o Develop and execute test plans for IOT infrastructure
o Support the launch of new IOT platforms and products
· Develop documentation standards for software validation and verification
· Support enterprise decisions surrounding product traceability and toolchains
· Work independently to manage timing, priority, and deliverables in a fast paced environment
· Work inside multiple development teams and programs to understand the technology being developed
· Assist design and requirements development
o FMEA participation
o HAZOP analysis
o Safety Studies
The applicant for this position must meet these requisites:
· B.S. in a STEM major (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineer preferred) with 3-5 years of application validation experience in high-reliability systems, such as those found in automotive/industrial/aerospace sectors
· Ability to scope work and estimate required effort – time management skills
· Interpersonal skills – customer interaction and effective small team member
· Desire / ability to work independently in a hands on environment
In addition, the ideal applicant also would meet the following:
· MS in Engineering discipline with emphasis in Controls
· Mechatronics experience
· Experience / Interest in battery technology and green energy technologies
