One of our clients in the government domain is seeking a Software Tester who will be responsible for conducting comprehensive analysis, defining robust test strategies and designs, and leading execution efforts to ensure high-quality outcomes The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in testing CRM-based or web-based applications This role operates within the Medicaid ITS Team, collaborating closely with ITS Development teams and reporting directly to the ITS Manager
Software Tester
Hybrid - Required 2 days (Mon &Tue) on site
Location: 50 W Town Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215
Long Term Contract
Responsibilities:
- Work with internal stakeholders and team members to create innovative high
- quality and defect-free solutions to meet our client's business needs
- Manages user testing to include developing test plans, creating user test
- cases, document test procedures, expected results, and defects
- Assist in several automation framework/infrastructure enhancement tasks
- Lead and manage testing activity for assigned automation infrastructure and
- conversion initiatives
- Have a complete and in-depth understanding of the Engineering and QA toolsets
- and be able to train and mentor State Testing Resource
- Review test automation industry tools and best practices to make sound
- recommendations on how we can enhance and streamline our current testing
- framework and processes
- Responsibilities also include designing or defining optimal test conditions and use cases to simulate real-time scenarios
- Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, configuration, and user guides
- Serve as System tester for major applications; Define, plan, design, and execute tests; Prepare and manage statistical and status reports for unit managers and higher-level managers
- Research and review system design and technical documentation in order to develop detailed system test estimate, design, and planning documents
- Develop and maintain system test plans, system test scenarios, and manual and automated scripts
- Execute manual and automated functional, regression, Integration, and performance tests, analyze outcomes, and support resolution to successful completion of tests
- Document and communicate test status and results; Track, report and validate defects and work with the team on resolution
- Ensure consistency of data, map all integration sources, and identify obstacles as part of Integration testing
- Conduct role-based testing to ensure compatibility with organizational profile policies
- Assist in the planning, creation, and control of the test environments
- Ability to work in both agile and waterfall Methodologies
- Contributes to test framework design across the enterprise application suite that maximizes maintainability and speed of execution
- Contributes to the design and implementation of supporting processes and tools that drive effective test automation delivery (source code management, code review, agile development, etc.)
- Review test automation industry tools and best practices to make sound recommendations on how
Required Experience:
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience testing to include (test planning, test development (test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios), and test execution) for large, complex CRM or Web-based application applications
- Minimum of 5 years of testing experience leveraging the NET framework (40 or later), C#, and Visual Studio 2019 or later
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience using QA Automation Tools such as Selenium or HP/Microfocus Test Tools (ie ALM/ALM Octane, Performance Center, Load Runner, QTP/UFT-Unified Functional Testing)
- Minimum of seven (6) years of experience using database query tools and writing SQL (i.e. Toad, AQT, etc.)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience analyzing and executing batch-processing jobs
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in testing SOAP/REST Web APIs / Web Services using Postman or any related tool
- Minimum of 1 year of experience using Continuous Testing tools like GIT, Nexus, Jenkins, Azure DevOps or TFS
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience using office automation and project planning tools such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Visio, Microsoft Office, and other tool sets
- Excellent analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills
- Experience in Agile/ JIRA or any test management tool
Desired Skill:
- Functional and/or Technical Certifications as deemed appropriate for specialization preferred
- Medicaid Experience preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, including the ability to negotiate compromise and demonstrate diplomacy in sensitive situations as well as interact effectively with peers and management across diverse cultures and fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team

- Prepare and manage system test data
- Attend project meetings and debrief management and team members on meeting content
- Work with Architects and Business Analysts to understand the overall architecture and how each feature is implemented
- Work collaboratively with the software development team members to plan and execute test processes that align with software development and business timelines
- Strong Expertise in Testing methodologies and Ability to resolve team Queries by interacting with various stakeholders
- Broad functional understanding of the assigned platform/program area
- Perform Cross-browser compatibility testing and API testing for integrated 3rd party applications
- Validate Regulatory compliances
- Work with Test Team members to enhance their testing skills and build technical and business knowledge
- Deep understanding of API architecture, API gateway policies, and API testing
- Deliver ad hoc written and oral presentations related to system testing
- Effective communication with peers and managers
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Salary
35 - 45 /hour
