WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU AS A SOFTWARE ENGINEER
As a Software Test Engineer, you will contribute to the testing of software core to our product by executing manual and automatic test scripts that implement new software test features. You will help maintain testing practices that foster high-growth teams and comply with industry standards. Being a team player, you enjoy working with our software, clinical, UX, and systems engineers as you work to optimize our system prototype and product designs. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with software and other engineers (clinical, systems, mechanical, electrical) as part of a focused cross-functional team developing software for medical devices and applications
- Analyze and understand software requirements to design and implement tests for software features
- Independently maintain and execute automation and/or manual test plans for software testing and verification
- Perform hands-on software and system testing of complex electro-mechanical systems
- Prepare and deliver test reports summarizing test efforts and outcomes.
- Collect, analyze, track, and report test results; document and file bugs systematically
Education and Experience Requirements:
- BS/MS in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
- 2+ years manual software testing experience
- 2+ years programming in Python
- Familiarity with common software tool sets, including source control, continuous integration, and automated unit testing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Passion for medical devices, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Desirable (Nice to Have) Skills or Experience:
- Experience in Design Control for regulated products, software verification, and knowledge of applicable regulations (e.g. ISO13485 and IEC 62304)
- Experience testing complex electro-mechanical systems
- Experience with test automation tools, frameworks, and suite development (ie. Ranorex, Squish, etc)
- Knowledge of Linux operating system
