Responsibilities to Anticipate for this Role
- Analyze and decompose system and software requirements to SW Criticality Indices per MIL-STD-882 and Joint Software System Engineering Handbook
- Develops requirements and designs, assess implementations for hazard and causal factors to satisfy critical system safety objectives
- Support system hazard analysis
- Recommends safety criteria in system design, equipment, and procedures to mitigate or eliminate hazards
- Create software sub-system architectures designs of features, functions, and algorithms for multiple electronic controllers
- Reviews Software architecture and design for safety of electronics and software systems
- Reviews Test Plans and Procedures for safety requirements verification and potential hazardous operations
Qualifications Sought
- Bachelor of Science degree in STEM Field: Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline/experience
- At least 3 years developing/creating/testing in C, C++, or QT embedded software and controls
- At least 7 years of experience designing Software to achieve product critical safety goals using MIL-STD-882E, ISO 26262, or equivalent standards
- Experience with model-based software development techniques
- Working experience with requirements tools such as Cameo or Doors
- Understanding of electrical and mechanical hardware (the plant) under control
- Ability to travel (mostly domestic, some international) up to 5%
- Strong Communication, Interpersonal, and organizational skills
Additional Information / Desired Experience
This position will require the candidate to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
This position will require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space)
- Post graduate degree of Science in STEM Field: Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline/experience
- Working knowledge of embedded software test development, and Software systems integration engineering
- Experience with Agile software development methodology
- Experience with Defense Industry a plus.
- Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies
