Software Quality Assurance Specialist - Bitwerx Inc

About This Position

We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Specialist to join our growing team. QA Specialists of all experience levels are encouraged to apply. You'll join a fast-moving, cross-functional team testing and developing elegant cloud-based solutions for complex problems.

This is a full-time position out of our Lexington, KY office and can be on-site, hybrid, or remote. If remote, you can expect to visit the office for new hire orientation and typically for team meetings once a quarter.

What You'll Do:

• Design and execute test plans to ensure software meets design specifications
• Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Create, execute, and document detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
• Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
• Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
• Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
• Monitor debugging process results.
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
• Participate in the entire software development life cycle, from feature design to deployment
• Collaborate with the product and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions

What We're Looking For:

• Proven work experience in software quality assurance; experience in complex microservice or big data environments preferred
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools for API and service applications
• Experience working with cloud-based services, experience with Azure is a plus
• Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in software quality assurance.
• Proven leadership experience in managing QA teams.
• Extensive knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in designing and implementing automated testing frameworks.
• Proficiency in at least one programming languages and scripting.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with continuous integration/delivery practices.
• A track record of successful project completion and product launches.
• Exceptional attention to detail

• Ability to work well with people of varying technical abilities
