In C4ISR Systems, you’ll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions.
This leadership role is ideal for a self-motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity to help create these products along with a solid path for career growth.You will be an active member of the Software Engineering leadership team at the site, shaping the software culture and process while ensuring the staffing and technical needs of the business are met.
You will work with our programs using your technical skills and experience to ensure the design, implementation, and sustainment of our software solutions meet and exceed customer expectations.
Technical responsibilities include architecture and design reviews, strategic initiative implementation, bid and proposal development, next generation solution planning and other areas of engagement that align with your skills and career aspirations.Knowledge of software architectures, software industry best practices, and emerging software technologies is required.
Candidates must have experience in embedded software development and higher-level languages, as well as software project and resource management.
Experience with people management, scheduling, and budgeting is essential to be successful in this role.
Primary tasks will include:Supervising a group of ~15 software engineers with a people first mentality through open communication and flow down, career development and training, constructive employee feedback, and providing a safe and inclusive work environment.Managing all Software Engineering execution in one of our major product lines, working closely with our project technical leads and engineering managers to ensure overall success of our programs.Managing software program performance metrics and clearly communicating program status to internal and external customers as well as senior leadership.Staffing current and projected software engineering needs, providing oversight of program execution relative to software content, and ensuring software engineering processes are being adhered to throughout the product lifecycle.Acquiring and growing staff with the skills and capabilities to meet the demands of projects through hiring, staff development/training, rotation assignments, mentoring, and personal growth opportunities.Building effective software teams, monitoring employee performance, providing career development and rotation assignment opportunities, mentoring software leads, and performing merit and promotion planning.Supporting proposal efforts to capture new business and reviewing and approving software engineering estimates.BAE Systems offers competitive pay, benefits, and important work-life balance initiatives including every other Friday Off, Flextime, and Telecommuting.

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
