Volt is immediately hiring Software Engineering Support in Wright Patterson AFB Ohio.
As Software Engineering Support, you will:
As a member of the Advanced Battle Management Consortium (ABMS) consortium, Mission Systems is seeking Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering support. This effort seeks to provide hardware, software, and DevSecOps/integration processes to evolve the capabilities of legacy and future aircraft through battle network connectivity, enhanced on-aircraft mission computing, and ultimately, the infrastructure for enabling real-time software updates so that platforms can rapidly adapt their flight and collaborative mission autonomy tactical behaviors as a mission’s goals, environments, and threats evolve. This technology represents a key thrust in evolving the connected multi-domain battlespace.
This role would primarily be responsible for Software Engineering in numerous aspects. The role will partly be responsible as design, implementation, integration, and verification support for collaborating systems engineers, focusing on planning of software development efforts, managing, and tracking software personnel, software and systems level analyses, participating in design reviews, decomposition and management of software requirements, and leadership/mentorship of more junior software engineers. Further, this role will include cybersecurity aspects towards vulnerability scanning (associated with DoD and DAF Approved Product list) and participation in DOD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Processes (DIACAP).
What You Will Do:
• This role will be working in cooperation with several other companies, all collaboratively working towards successful developments, integrations, and demonstrations of the Elrond technology.
• A successful candidate will demonstrate enthusiasm and strong interpersonal, as well as the capacity to communicate technically across engineers with a variety of disciplines and breadth/depth of focus.
• The role is expected to be primarily onsite in a secure facility at the cited location (although some ad hoc flexibility may be available if working on specific unclassified tasking).
• Further, the role is expected to require TS/SCI clearance on day 1.
This is a 12 Month full time Contract or Contract to hire opportunity.
This position requires Active TS/SCI Clearance.
The Ideal candidate will have:
• Bachelor’s degree and approximately 10 years of prior relevant experience or advanced degree in a related field and approximately 8 years experience.
• Must have a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance at the TS/SCI level
• Demonstrates empathy, curiosity, and desire to constantly improve
• Showcases excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work well with others in a professional team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated software engineering experience with aerospace systems, having performed requirements development, decomposition, software implementation, and associated integration and verification processes
• Experience managing software development plans and leading (as well as mentoring) software engineering personnel
• Experience with cybersecurity and vulnerability scanning, ideally with software on the DoD and DAF Approved Product List
• Experience with DOD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Processes (DIACAP)
• Background in risk/opportunity management
• Background in obsolescence engineering
• Demonstrates the ability to think both tactically and strategically when solving problems
• Showcases excellent organizational skills and the ability to balancing priorities and schedules
• Has experience working effectively in highly collaborative environments and a demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks and technical efforts spanning multiple stakeholders
Pay Range: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour.
