Who We Are
The SEO Engineering team plays a key role in Wayfair’s organic growth strategy. Working closely with SEO analysts, our team's charter includes driving all aspects of SEO, such as keyword management, internal linking, and on-page content optimization. This role provides a great opportunity for a strong engineering manager with SEO expertise to materially impact hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue from day one.
What You'll Do
- Lead and mentor a team of SEO engineers, providing technical guidance and career development.
- Provide thought leadership in driving the vision for the SEO platform, in collaboration with product management and science teams.
- Influence website architecture decisions, ensuring SEO best practices are taken into account.
- Drive efficiency and scalability via creative use of automation and Gen AI.
- Transform our SEO products from core enablers to key drivers of performance and growth.
- Use significant depth and breadth of technical expertise to ensure platforms being built are scalable, maintainable, and extensible.
What You'll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6+ years of technical SEO experience at large websites.
- 3+ years of people management experience.
- Experience making architectural and design-related decisions for large-scale platforms.
- Strong understanding of web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, and modern frontend frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of SEO ranking factors, and technical SEO best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and business partners across all levels.
