About the Job

Must Haves:
- 7+ years of professional experience and 5+ years of management experience with experience in people leadership, annual evaluations, facilitating one-on-ones, escalations, etc.
- Experience in an implementation-based environment where they were implementing a product for an external customer.
- Experience working with a product that intakes large amounts of transactional data (think payments or similar – product with a terminal, host, transactions, etc.)
- Strong experience managing large scale projects from requirements gathering to go live.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong decision maker – ability to make decisions with limited evidence.
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to drive projects over the finish line and get stuff done.
- Passionate
- Strong communication skills – will still be working in a client facing role and should have ability to work in a face paced environment.
Plusses:
- Experience as a hands-on developer (preferably a C#/.Net background, but open to others) and experience with some sort of SQL Database.
- Experience in a production or support environment working with end-clients.
- Experience in the lottery, gaming, retain transactional industries.
Day to Day:
A client of Insight Global in the lottery products and services industry is hiring for Software Development Manager to join their Implementation Team! This company is a global leader in providing customized, end-to-end gaming solutions to lottery and gaming organizations worldwide and develops an array of products and services including instant lottery games, lottery gaming systems, terminals and services, and Internet applications, as well as server-based interactive gaming machines.
This team works on major implementation projects for the central gaming system software. The manager is the primary owner of all aspects of software delivery, from insuring requirements are clear to starting to sell and cash lottery products. This includes planning and monitoring any data conversion. New features, reports, interfaces, and the people who development them are the responsibility of the manager. The Manager will oversee a team of 4 developers to start, but this team will likely grow to 6-8 developers. This is a challenging and rewarding position that is very highly respected within the company. All this requires a good mix of technical skill, verbal and written communication skills, project, and personnel management. The day-to-day job is to manage people, projects, guide software direction, review and or gather requirements, drive estimation, and deliver against those estimates. The Manager will report to a Director of Software Engineering and will be joining an impressive team of career minded professionals.
