DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Work with the Business Intelligence and Analytics Platform Build Engineering team and Center of Excellence teams for Tableau, Alteryx, Cognos, Business Object, and Qlik. Serve as a member of the platform engineering team. Responsible for designing and developing automated solutions for BIA platform engineering processes that include BIA platform build, integration with various peripheral systems, and maintenance activities such as PAVE, REPAVE, cluster expansion, upgrades. Conceptualize and implement creative solutions. Design and implement end-to-end automated solutions applying modern engineering methodologies. Work on 'Concept to Design' solution including process shepherding/documentation Work in distributed system architecture, design, development and end user experience. Design process for periodic health check of the infrastructure and implementation of changes/vendor recommendations. Research functionality and technical configuration within the BI systems supported by the BI Applications group and prepare recommendations for system improvements. Develop and document effective new and existing operational procedures for BI infrastructure, BI Architecture, and business system requirements and provide recommendations and proposals. Plan and implements new systems. Optimize existing system resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Engineer, Cloud Service Engineer, IT System Analyst, or related occupation.
Skills Required: Linux; Windows OS; Waterfall SDLC; Application Architecture Disciplines; Infrastructure Architecture Disciplines; Microservices; Java; Python; Shell Scripting; JSON; Functional Testing; Performance Testing; System Integration Testing; and Unit Testing.
Job Location: 8181 Communications Pkwy, Plano, TX 75024. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
