Responsibilities:The Position:
We are seeking exceptional Software Engineers (Levels II-IV) to join our cutting-edge team. The ideal candidates will possess a robust foundation in diverse programming languages and technologies, with a strong emphasis on both client-side and server-side development. This role demands a passion for innovation, adaptability to emerging technologies, and the ability to architect and implement complex systems across multiple platforms. - Software Development and Architecture
- Design, develop, and implement sophisticated software applications from functional and system specifications.
- Architect robust, scalable, and efficient solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Enhance existing software to optimize performance, improve efficiency, and bolster robustness.
- Cross-functional Collaboration and Agile Practices
- Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams in an Agile/DevOps environment.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to ensure project success.
- Quality Assurance and Testing
- Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software for both client and server applications.
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans and procedures to ensure software reliability and performance.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, fostering a culture of excellence.
- System Analysis and Optimization
- Review, evaluate, and analyze design interfaces to ensure optimal integration and functionality.
- Optimize application performance to meet or exceed specified KPIs and ensure high reliability.
- Conduct performance profiling and implement optimizations to reduce operating time and enhance efficiency.
- Documentation and Specifications
- Prepare, review, and evaluate interface documentation and specifications with meticulous attention to detail.
- Document designs comprehensively, including functional block diagrams and data/logic flow charts.
- Contribute to the definition, analysis, and allocation of system requirements.
- Full Lifecycle Development
- Actively contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, from initial design to deployment and maintenance.
- Maintain developed software efficiently by deeply understanding software lifecycles and best practices.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, proposing innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Continuously refine development processes and methodologies to increase team efficiency and product quality.
The salary range for level II is $37.02-$62.02 per hour, level III is $ 93,000- $ 157,000 per year, and level IV is $112,000-$188,000 per year, which is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
Qualifications:What We’re Looking For:
Common Skills
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong object-oriented programming skills in C/C++
- Experience with Java and Kotlin development
- Familiarity with Rust programming language
- Proficient in Python for various applications
Client-Specific Skills
- Android app development experience
- Linux device driver development
- Firmware-kernel integration knowledge
- Experience with video file and cloud-to-device live streaming
- Understanding of hypervisors and virtualization technologies
- Knowledge of platform security principles
- Ability to perform performance optimization to meet KPIs
- Experience with automation tools and techniques
- Familiarity with wireless technologies (Bluetooth, WiFi)
- Experience with Jetpack Compose for modern Android UI development
Server-Specific Skills
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and HTTP/HTTPS protocols
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of hypervisors and virtualization in server environments
- Ability to design and implement networking solutions for multiple clients
- Experience with cell modem integration
- Familiarity with satellite connectivity solutions
- Proficiency in cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Understanding of distributed systems architecture
- Experience in implementing redundancy and achieving high reliability (3-9's)
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance requirements
Advanced Development Skills
- SoC (System on Chip) knowledge
- Understanding of RTOS and Linux kernel architecture
- Experience in device driver development
- Proficiency with debugging tools for complex systems
- Automotive infotainment system development experience

- Paid time off: Exempt Salaried employees receive flexible paid time off. This means that there is no fixed number, range, or limit to the amount of Personal and Vacation Days that may be taken for exempt employees. Non-exempt hourly employees accrue 14 vacation days per year + 7 sick days + 3 personal days. Accrual rate increases with tenure. All employees receive 11 company paid holidays per year. We also close our offices at the corporate level in the U.S. between Christmas and New Year. For operational positions that are expected to work on holidays, we provide additional compensation for hours worked.
