We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join our team! The Azure Edge Engineering System team, which is part of the Azure Edge and Platform Division, is looking for a dynamic and self-motivated Software Engineer II with a passion for providing reliable, scalable and secure systems.

As a member of our team, you will contribute to Microsoft's next generation Azure Edge Platform. Your work will have a broad impact across multiple products including very large private cloud datacenters and Microsoft Azure. Your immediate customers will be all around you, and you will partner with members of many teams across the company. You will be exposed to latest technologies including Hybrid Cloud, Containers, and the latest in security principles and best practices.

**Responsibilities**
+ Work as a team member to contribute to reliable, distributed, secure, scalable systems to be used by hundreds of engineers to build our Azure Edge software.
+ You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of feature areas as we evolve and continuously modernize our engineering system -- from early concepts and requirements, through design, reviews, and implementation & testing.
+ You'll learn and put directly into use your knowledge of security best practices as we design and implement solutions in compliance with cybersecurity best practices.
+ Follow best practices of software engineering process from design, development, code review, validation, delivery, and maintenance
+ Help define and use data-driven metrics to evaluate quality and to prioritize and evaluate overall business impact and help identify new opportunities, improvements, and optimizations.
+ Foster an inclusive and collaborative team culture.
**Qualifications**
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ 1+ year of experience with system development on Windows or Linux
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
+ OR equivalent experience.
+ Solid coding skills in C or C++ or C#, demonstrated experience of operating systems, virtualization, storage, networking, distributed systems and/or cloud technologies
Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
