Job Summary:
The Production Platform Foundations team is a horizontal service team providing both tools and guidance across the organization for operations in AWS. We strive to act as a productivity multiplier, providing consulting and operational support to Application teams to help them drive their adoption of AWS services in conjunction with their existing infrastructure. We work closely with those groups to offer a 'cloud-native' perspective on application architecture, infrastructure, and deployment strategies. A Software Engineer on the Cloud Account Management (CAM) team is responsible for providing operational and technical guidance to Application Development (DevOps) teams that are utilizing the AWS environment. This position will report to the Lead Software Engineer and will interact with other Software Engineers in the Cloud Account Management (CAM) team.

What you'll be doing:
- Monitoring and working on inbound issues reported via Jira, email, and Slack
- Drive efficiencies by assisting with the creation and maintenance of infrastructure tooling and scripts on an occasional basis (Terraform, Python, etc.)
- You will implement and execute best practices and security standards for operating in the cloud
- You will champion best practices for cloud architecture and contribute to a library of shared modules
- When we hit the limits of our scale, you will participate in investigations and RCA’s to continuously improve by learning from failures
- Work with infrastructure tooling and be a good resource for forming cloud infrastructure as code.
- Automate all the things
- 1+ years of relevant software engineering experience
- 1+ years of AWS experience and familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, CloudFormation, Kinesis, Lambda, and CloudTrail.
- Hands-on AWS Security/IAM administration and policy-creation experience
- Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, Puppet, and Terraform
- Experience with Unix/Linux systems
- You're practical and personable, with a succinct communication style and the ability to communicate with engineers
- Familiarity with operational troubleshooting tools and techniques.
- AWS Certifications
- 2+ years ‘ experience supporting DevOps teams in mid-to-large-sized organizations
- Ability and willingness to engage in hands-on configuration work (e.g.: config-file Github PullRequests).
- Familiarity with SSL Certificate management.
- Familiarity with general and AWS-specific networking concepts, inc. VPC, Security Groups, IPv4,
- Firewalling, and DNS basic concepts
