What you will do...:

Primary Role

The Network Engineer will create prototypes for SATCOM and signal processing technologies.

 

Key Functions

• Prototype programmer
• Write software solutions for various SATCOM systems
• Interact with technical team members from multiple organizations in a team environment
• Assist with maintaining software pipeline tools

Skills you will need...:

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other Engineering / Science discipline
• 3 years’ experience in JAVA, C/C++, scripting
• 3 years’ experience in the Linux environment

 

Desired Education/Experience

• Masters degree in Computer Science or other Engineering / Science discipline
• 6 years of programming experience highly encouraged

 

Required Skills

• Strong programming skills
• Experience with software factory tools such as Gitlab, Nexus, Jira, Confluence, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to understand enterprise level systems
• Comfortable configuring networks to include IP schemes and basic troubleshooting
• Demonstrated ability to complete tasks, drive projects to closure, assimilate and correlate project information in a fast-paced environment and incorporate them into coherent test strategies
• Demonstrated ability to shift from one project to another in an agile work environment
• Ability to communicate technical approaches and details within small project teams, including team interaction and presentations
• Ability to capture technical approaches, designs, block diagrams, algorithms, and implementations in written and graphical form

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with RF signals and signal processing
• Strong motivation to expand knowledge and skills
• Ability to approach classical problems with new ideas and innovation
• High degree of competence in C/C++, Java, Python, Bash
• Understanding of basic wireless communication and software defined radio
• Advanced network experience troubleshooting using Wireshark and switch/router configuration/maintenance

 

Travel

• This position will require overnight travel up to 10 percent of the time. Trip durations may range from overnight to several weeks.

 

Clearance

• Only candidates who currently possess an active Top Secret / SCI clearance will be considered. Must have ability to get Special Access. Applicants for positions which require DoD security clearance must meet eligibility requirements to include US citizenship.
