Description of Role:
SRI Telecom seeks a skilled Software Developer to drive the development of a Big Data Platform that enables real-time data processing from connected devices. This role focuses on building a robust data pipeline to collect, process, and store large datasets in a high-performance data warehouse, empowering various teams with critical data insights. The ideal candidate is experienced in AWS cloud infrastructure, distributed computing, and has expertise with tools like S3, Kubernetes, EC2, Flink, and Lambda. This position involves software development, testing, and production support to ensure smooth, real-time data flow and high availability for data-driven analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and enhances features within a real-time Big Data Platform, focusing on data pipeline efficiency, data flow, and storage within a SQL-based data warehouse.
- Conducts daily morning huddles and collaborates with the Business Analyst team to address their requirements and resolve issues, ensuring alignment on project goals.
- Performs hands-on coding, testing, and production support, following best practices in software engineering and delivering high-quality technical solutions.
- Implements ETL processes or leverages Big Data tools (as applicable) to manage large datasets and support data analysis needs across teams.
- Ensures system stability and reliability by addressing production-level issues and providing support for an established, in-production project.
- Takes a proactive, hands-on approach to enhancements and support, contributing technical expertise effectively without the need for architectural input.
Skills:
- Must have proficiency in Python (version 11) and Java (any recent version) for software development.
- Must have strong expertise in SQL for effective data management and query operations.
- Must have experience working with Linux and be comfortable in a command-line environment.
- Must have familiarity with AWS services to support data storage, processing, and cloud-based infrastructure needs.
- Ideally has experience with ETL processes; Big Data experience is a plus but not required.
- Must be a collaborative team player with strong communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently on high-priority objectives.
