JOB SUMMARY & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
The purpose of this position is to design the program logic and develop procedures for the solution of computer related problems and convert procedures into applications software, as well as perform infrastructure and customer support functions. This position operates in an on-premises office environment. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field and two (2) or more years of experience in designing and writing code for programs using computer-based languages, development tools (including development within the Oracle platform) and utilities. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of programming languages, database structure as well as version control tools and principles. In addition, the incumbent must possess the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing, for both technical and non-technical audiences.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops design specifications and logic flow for applications and programs as specified from system design process.
- Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications; write programming scripts to enhance functionality and/or performance of company applications as necessary; design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
- Coordinating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing timelines and deliverables, and ensuring successful project execution by effectively conveying technical information, gathering requirements, addressing concerns, and aligning the development process with organizational objectives.
- Write and oversee the compilation of procedures, participate in the development of application documentation to aid in user application training as requested to facilitate and conduct end user training as required to effectively operate new or modified programs.
- Performs application support functions as required in order to fulfill corporate and departmental goals as specified and performs user support as needed.
- Manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines at a project level. Show time management skills and be able to balance competing demands and responsibilities. Identifying and determining the importance and urgency of tasks and projects.
- Assume competence within designated supported systems and fulfill the primary developer position, ensuring organizational resilience and overseeing the smooth operation, performance, and adherence to organizational standards of a specified array of systems.
- Responsible for ensuring the success of PowerSouth by promoting teamwork, group goals and objectives, properly communicating and cooperating within the PowerSouth organization and with member systems as well as demonstrating and promoting standards of respect and dignity, accountability, integrity, and trustworthiness.
