Software Developer/Adapter
ASRC Federal Technical Services is seeking a Software Developer/Adapter to join our Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) team that supports the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.
Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) is a NextGen tower program that distributes flight plan data and provides a range of decision support tools to controllers, traffic management coordinators as well as flight and airport operators. TFDM improves the efficiency of operations on the airport surface, in the towers and terminals, and throughout the NAS by integrating timesaving decision support tools, enhancing traffic flow management, enabling electronic data exchange, and reducing manual and verbal coordination.
We are looking for an experienced individual to work independently and in a team environment. This individual:
- Will provide expertise in a specific technical area defined by the government that is not readily available in the other defined categories and is pertinent to Technical Operations maintenance, enhancement, and sustainment of the NAS.
- Interpret and analyzes complex information systems data to develop security related technical documentation, system diagrams, and presentation materials.
- Duties include an interdisciplinary approach using engineering principles.
- Assist in specifications development, implementation, testing and documenting engineering systems and equipment.
- Experience in project management may be required.
- Provide expertise in a specific technical area defined by the government that is not readily available in the other defined categories and is pertinent to Technical Operations maintenance, enhancement, and sustainment of the NAS.
Required Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering with twelve (12) years of related work experience in the specific engineering principle. OR
- Master’s Degree in Engineering with nine (9) years related work experience in the specific engineering principle. OR
- PhD or Doctorial in Engineering with experience in the specific engineering principle.
- Permanent Residency (with 3 years residing in the US) or US Citizenship is required for the FAA Public Trust/background investigation.
- Possess skills in C/C++, Unix, LINUX, Solaris, CISCO, IOS.
- Proficiency with computer networks, TCP/IP, routing protocol.
- Systems safety, quality assurance, test and evaluation, systems security, and configuration and data information systems, etc.
- Track preparation and delivery status of required deliverables.
- Perform assignments on a broad range of tasks associated with the implementation of standards techniques, procedures, and criteria as they apply to technical tasks.
Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience with systems such as TFDM, STARS, CARTS, and TAMR.
- Test and evaluation policies and methods, including test plan, test procedure and test report development, and test execution.
- Hands on test bed experience such as test bed establishment (including the physical, interface and installation requirements), test bed maintenance or test bed operations .
- Ability to take direction and initiative; ability to provide direction and training.
- Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people.
Essential Job Duties

Work Environment
- Full-time position with a standard flexible work schedule and occasional non-standard work hours.
