Software Architect (EJB, JDBC, JSP, Eclipse, Netbeans, IBM DB2, XML, MQ, JMS, Kafka) - MVP Consulting

The selected candidate will be a lead developer for the Tax Modernization effort and provide support for maintenance activities.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Obtain business requirements to develop automated applications which meet business priorities.
• Provide lead programming duties for tax related applications.
• Develop and mentor staff using various technologies including J2EE, Spring, JSON, JavaScript and JDBC .
• Develop and review detailed documentation for system and program change requirement including detail specifications documents.
• Assist and provide guidance through all phases of the project management life cycle.
• Develop unit test plans based on coding changes and user specifications. Conduct unit testing and debugging of all code changes in the development environment.
• Coordinate the migration of all code changes (programs, procedures, etc.) from development environment into user test environment.
• Assist team members using distributed technologies including Java, DB2, XML and XQuery. Ensure that staff members are properly trained and mentored.
• Provide support, as needed, for defects and issue resolution. Ensure that defects and issues are addressed promptly based on priority.
• Facilitate and participate in meetings with ITS and DTF customers.
• Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with DTF management and users, ITS management, and team members.

Software Architect
Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large scale software system.
Expert 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.

1. 84 months of experience with J2EE technologies including EJB, JDBC, JSP, and XML
2. 84 months experience developing, building, and testing Java EE applications using modern IDE's, such as Eclipse, Netbeans, or IntelliJ.
3. 84 months of IBM DB2 experience working DB2 databases and experience with XML schemas ( definition, querying and automated gneration).
4. 60 months of experience performance tuning applications interacting with databases.
5. 60 months of experience in messaging technologies, such as MQ, JMS, Kafka.
6. 60 months experience with an organization which includes technical design, development, maintenance, and end user support of complex systems.
7. 84 months of experience in system analysis and design experience for multi-tiered transactional systems and writing technical design specification documents for multifaceted component-based systems.
