Mickey’s of Glendale, the official store of Walt Disney Imagineering, operates two brick-and-mortar locations and an e-commerce business. The product assortments we design and produce are exclusive to Imagineers, Cast Members, and Employees of the Walt Disney Co. and celebrate the creativity and innovation that go into every Disney Project.
You will report to the Mickey's of Glendale Product Development Assistant Manager.
This is a 2 1/2-year Project Hire position with no guarantee of permanent placement.
What You Will Do
The Product Designer is a key staff member of the Product Development team. This individual will drive product design and development for apparel and accessories categories, starting from concept to production. You will support the design and delivery of products and own all aspects of the product development process including ideation, research, planning, sourcing, costing, production, and commercialization. Other responsibilities will include:
+ Stay in sync with sourcing criteria
+ Ensure all products pass Product Safety & Reliability tests and Federal safety standards
+ Maintain development timelines and tracking of achievements
+ Collaborate with the leadership team on in-store visual design
+ Collaborate with marketing on creative development and marketing strategy
+ Actively support securing company assets through effective Loss Prevention, in compliance with company policies and rules
+ Promote and maintain a safe working and shopping environment
+ Work with partners and peers to ensure the highest quality, trend-right product lines that build brand equity
+ Collaborate with internal and external partners to design and approve all products
+ Explain a point of view clearly and positively while also being flexible with receiving feedback
+ Sporadic domestic travel
Required Qualifications & Skills
+ 2+ years of experience in product design and development, production scheduling, project management, and coordinating marketing activities
+ Proven computer software skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Suite, and Keynote on a Windows platform
+ Proficient in FLEX or similar PLM software
+ Strong communication skills across all professional interactions, including guests, peers, and management within and among all internal business units
+ Build and maintain professional partnerships with multiple internal teams and partners like vendors, suppliers, and more
+ Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects in time
+ Proven success in decision-making, tact, and flexibility
+ Highly motivated problem solver who pays close attention to details
+ Visual merchandising savvy
Preferred Qualifications
+ Solid knowledge of visual merchandising principles is desired. Previous skills/experience as a graphic artist strongly preferred
+ Prior experience or knowledge of properties within The Walt Disney Co. (Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, 20th Century, and National Geographic).
Education
2-year college degree or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $53,300.00-$71,300.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
